O.J. Simpson, 76, Passes Away Following Cancer Struggle

Former football legend Orenthal James Simpson, "The Juice" passed away on Wednesday after a battle with cancer at the age of 76, his family revealed earlier via his X account on social media.

"On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace. -The Simpson Family." 

Simpson's life as an American sports celebrity abruptly changed when he was accused of killing his ex-wife and her friend in 1994.
 
In addition to breaking records as a collegiate and professional football player, O.J Simpson, also known by his stage moniker "The Juice," amassed fame and wealth as a sportscaster, actor in films and television shows, and corporate spokesperson—most notably for Hertz rental cars.

Simpson was one of the greatest running backs in football history when it came to the field.

Simpson's counsel verified his passing to TMZ on Thursday.
